Sherman’s Tap House in Southington CT
What a great find!
Very spacious, and yet a cozy comfortable atmosphere.
The staff is welcoming and professional. GM was on site during our visit and stated that the owner is on site most nights and is very involved in the day to day operations. The food is ALL from scratch except the tots and the sweet potato fries. The beer is certainly plentiful with 32 draft beer taps and 4 house made specialty drink taps, you’re sure to find SOMETHING you like.
The food is righteous.
We started out with:
Southwest Risotto Balls.
Golden fried arborio rice and chorizo balls, served with an enchilada sauce, cotija cheese, corn and black beans.
DEFINITELY a must try WHEN not if you visit this establishment.
Then the main course. The nice thing about this was when we told them we were sharing they served it to us on two separately made up plates each just as thoughtfully arranged as the other not just here’s some extra plates divide it how you want. Classy.
Cowboy Burger
Topped with jalapeno, frizzled onions, bacon, BBQ and cheddar.
Then we shut it down with……
New York Style Cheesecake
Chef JB’s homemade cheesecake served with a cherry compote.
This dish is amazing, so much so that when we couldn’t finish it we took the rest home!
Truly an awesome find here. The menu sums up our feelings exactly! We saw tap house so we figured at least they’ll have beer….and then, BAM food smacked by chef quality creations.
Once a month they do a ticketed event showcasing a particular brewery and a multi course chef paired food lineup.
Sherman’s Tap House is located at 25 Center Street Southington, CT in the former frozen yogurt shop location, and is owned by Sean and Leigh Sherman of Burlington. Sean is a former server and manager from J. Timothy’s Taverne
